Choosing a service

You may be wondering which service you need – and how you can best match this with your capacity (in terms of budget, time and desire) to work on this manuscript further.

Can you go straight for a line and copyedit? Or does the plot desperately need untangling first? Can the story be strengthened with just a few tweaks? Or is substantial rewriting needed?

I can help you figure all this out before you commit to working with me. Here’s how.

I’ll read and review your full manuscript, giving me a clear picture of which service (or services) would suit it best. We’ll then have a video chat or email correspondence about your aims for the book and what you’re hoping to get from the editing process. Afterward, I’ll write up my recommendations, specific to your needs and requirements.

  • Fee: £250 or $300, redeemable against the cost of the service(s) you book me in for.

I’ll review your first 5,000 words, giving me a basic impression of what service (or services) your manuscript likely needs. We’ll then have a twenty-minute video chat (or email) about your aims for the book and what you’re hoping to get from the editing process. Afterward, I’ll write up my recommendations. Though I’ll do my best to help match you with the best service(s), keep in mind a full review is more likely to result in the most effective match.
